Job Profile:

We are seeking an experienced International Homeroom Teacher to join a high-quality international bilingual kindergarten in Chengdu, working with children aged 2–4. The role involves inquiry-based curriculum planning, classroom management, parent communication, and close collaboration with Chinese co-teachers.

Job Details:

The International Homeroom Teacher will be responsible for the education, development, and daily classroom experience of young children aged approximately 2 to 4. This is a full homeroom teaching position rather than a traditional English language teaching role. The teacher will participate in curriculum planning, classroom management, assessment, parent communication, and collaboration with Chinese co-teachers and teaching assistants.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based learning experiences for young children
• Create a safe, engaging, inclusive, and child-centered classroom environment
• Observe, document, and assess children’s learning and development
• Differentiate learning activities according to individual children’s needs, interests, and developmental levels
• Support children’s social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development
• Work closely with Chinese co-teachers and teaching assistants in daily classroom activities
• Maintain effective classroom routines, behavior expectations, and safety procedures
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding children’s learning, development, and wellbeing
• Participate in parent meetings, school events, professional development activities, and curriculum planning
• Contribute to the development of the school’s international and bilingual early-years program
• Participate in relevant school accreditation and professional development processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field
• Minimum two years of teaching experience in a kindergarten, early-years setting, or international school
• Experience working with toddlers, nursery, preschool, or junior kindergarten children is preferred
• Experience with EYFS or IB PYP is a strong advantage
• TEFL, TESOL, PGCE, QTS, state teaching certification, or other relevant professional qualifications are preferred
• Native-level English proficiency
• Strong understanding of early childhood development and child-centered learning
• Ability to work effectively within an international and bilingual teaching team
• Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
• Warm, patient, energetic, responsible, and genuinely passionate about working with young children
• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to living and working in China
• First Aid, CPR, child development, or child psychology training would be an advantage

Offer Package

• Monthly salary up to RMB 30,000 depending on qualifications, professional credentials, and relevant teaching experience
