Responsibilities and Duties
Using Planning Framework, our teachers:
• Plan scaffolded and differentiated learning experiences aligned with clear standards-based
outcomes
• Utilize varied and effective instructional and assessment strategies, including structured and
guided inquiry approaches and problem-based learning, to engage all students in rigorous,
meaningful, and authentic learning
• Utilize standards-aligned formative and summative assessment data to inform instructional
planning and delivery
• Engage in reflective practice and professional development aimed at improving classroom
practice
• Collaboratively plan with Chinese and English colleagues within and across disciplines
Beyond classroom academic instruction, our teachers:
• Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical and creative
thinking
• Communicate effectively with all Daystar community stakeholders, including students, parents,
colleagues, and administrators
• Support whole-child development as homeroom advisors and/or projects supervisors (e.g. MYP Community/Personal Projects, Extended Essays)
• Collaboratively plan and participate in co-curricular activities and events
• Other duties, as assigned by the Secondary School Principal
Qualifications & Requirements
• Possess a strong foundation in Design Technology (including digital design, manufacturing, and robotics) and best instructional practices (required)
• English as a mother tongue (required)
• Bachelor's degree (required); Master's degree (preferred)
• Valid teaching certificate or proof of qualified teacher status (required)
• Experience working in a bilingual setting (preferred)
• Must be open-minded and demonstrate an interest in living in China and working at a school
committed to developing bilingual and bicultural students
