My first formal job was in Huawei , I graduated in 2009 , and I have joined Huawei in 2010  , it was my first contracted Job , before that I was more like freelancing , working in translation and doing some work for news  agencies like Xinhuashe.

My major at colleague was Chinese culture & language, Cairo University, and I have earned a scholarship in 2007 for one year, studying in Beijing Language University,It was my first journey overseas …my first journey was to china!  I remember being very excited about everything , even though the trip have taken more than 12 hours , I still was very excited.

Beijing is amazing, very clean city “at least comparing to Cairo “the university was amazing, when you step in the airport you can easily recognize that this country is very organized , everything in order.

Although it’s a very crowded city especially in the rush hours, but you can see simplicity in many things …in old people walking backwards in the morning , or stretching their bodies doing  taijiquan , you can see the smiley faces wherever you go , welcoming you as a foreigner , sometimes even initiates a conversation with you asking about your nationality and admiring your Chinese speaking ability , I loved Beijing people.

I joined Huawei after several interviews with different depts. , and I remember that they needed a qualified Chinese speaker to join the  Regional office HR Dept  , i had an interview with the HRD of the Northern Africa back then Mr. heminhua , the interview lasted for one hour , he is  a very thoughtful manager , I was fresh graduate , and there weren’t so much questions about work experience , but rather activities and opinions in life and situational interview questions related to the position and the culture of the company   , after that I had an interview with regional R&A Director Mr. wuzhenhua and he is  a very smart manager as well , and then with Egypt office HRD Mrs. Hend Kiwan “god bless her soul “ then I had a call that I was accepted and they sent me the offer ,I was very delightful ,Huawei is big company ,and its great to make a career and work using the language you have learned!

I joined the Regional office HR Dept , Recruitment and allocation section , as a junior HR ,and to be honest I didn’t have experience in reporting or data analysis , but I did have a very clear logic & understanding and Iam a hard worker , and the team , all of the team was very supportive , they taught me everything , from making the reports , analyzing the data , and highlighting the problems , reporting to the high management  , I was very dedicated , I even worked till 12 oclock sometimes , because of the deadlines and the time differences between the countries that belong to the northern Africa , the work was challenging but I was very excited , I supported egypt rep office and I achieved the  target of a recruitment of high talents in new areas , I negotiated offers  and made interviews to high level candidates , I enjoyed the process ,and I had a great results at work.

After that  I Joined egypt rep office , and I handled the Learning and development part , and individual performance management , we achieved a lot in the past 3 years, I was an outstanding performer all the way   , we faced ups and downs in our work , but we are still fighting for better results.

I was promoted and I had the opportunity to go to china one more time for a training , and yes , I was overwhelmed , although it wasn’t Beijing "as I still dream to go there again one day "but its still china , right ?:)

I went for HRBP training , and it was a mazing , I learned new things and I had the opportunity to meet huaweiren from different countries and trainers with a wide experience, I have also seen the new city- the new Huawei city “ in Dongguan ,this city is amazing in a way that no words can describe it , you feel that you are all over the world but still in china!

I Love to support in different scopes , I have a good ability in planning For any new work  , a manager told me once that in order to focus and save more time , make a good planning and work with a logic  , I learned that quickly and its one of my great elements , I supported in the first half year of 2019 in the internship program for outstanding students in the ICT program , I was leading the planning of HR part in the project with the assigned HR team ,from receiving the depts. Requirements and  planning for interviews and positioning the right students in the right departments till sending the offers , the work was challenging specially in the practical organization and the deadlines were very critical ,but we have met all the dealines and we were ready 2 months before the recruitment dates J , i didn’t have the enough time to reach the actual recruitment time , as I gave birth to my little baby Luna in June and the recruitment happened between august and sept , yet I have handed over the rest of the plan to the team and it was perfectly handled.

I just came back from maternity in Dec 2019 ,and am so excited to explore new things and learn new things , hope that I can get this opportunity with the support of my new manager.

The interesting thing about Huawei is that you keep learning no matter how old you get , you meet new managers all the time  , and you can approach new ways of thinking and you can learn and teach others as well.

It’s important to keep your learning motive in Huawei, and to keep  Pushing to Learn new things , Sometimes some managers hesitate in giving you the chance due to their work load or fast changes in work , but you need to keep fighting in & for Huawei to survive and grow.

Learn, fight , enjoy , these 3 words are the key factors to grow in your career.
