What are the highest paying careers in computers? I want to work with computers when I am older. But I want to know what the highest paying jobs involving computers are? Is it a Computer Scientist, Computer Engineer? Computer Programmer? Game Developer? Etc. So many more too list, but which ones make the most? Thank you. |

Any career that gets you into management position. I took MIS and found out that if you work as programmer, engineer or developer, you will be stuck in that position for the rest of your life (since you're in a key position). Any key position will have low probability for career promotion since you'll be irreplaceable. If there is a project going on they really cannot afford to move you up. Take any one you like the most and add some management courses. |

Usu. the documents you need to get a Z visa are sent by your employer in China, they are invitation letter, work permit paper. Also they have to be the originals, and need to be sent by mail. |

Rewrite your resume so it highlights the skills and knowledge you have gained from these jobs. Then, list the jobs last without much detail. It will stand a better chance of your many jobs to not stand out. |

Hi Luis,
I can tell you've been attracted by this metropolitan city-Shanghai.
Unfortunately Luis for most foreigners out there, only Chinese nationals can legally set up a company in China, meaning you'll have to get a Chinese partner who can put their name and signature on everything (including the bank account.) Needless to say, make sure you find someone you trust. If things do go pear-shaped, you WILL lose to the local.
The registration process usually takes two to three months, and has to be approved by the Government, which may put limits on the scope of your business. As if that wasn't fun enough, you have to report to lots of government departments, such as the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration of Industry and Commerce, and several tax departments (national, municipal, local.) Upon success, you'll have to give ongoing reports to the government, which can be a real drag. More info on set up a company in Shanghai this link.
Some people set up a company in Hong Kong (which is much cheaper) and then operate in Shanghai without a proper business license or registered rep office. This evades the monthly 10% business tax, but can land you in a lot of hot water if you get caught. More info in this thread.
As if that wasn't enough, you'll need 500,000 RMB startup capital. This would be a problem, but apparently there are companies who can arrange to "transfer" that sum to your account for a short time, and then take it back. This sum may be less outside of Shanghai, for example in Beijing it's about 10,000 USD.
Really, the key things are guanxi, (your relationships and network with other people) patience, a tolerance for a lot of red tape and really doing your homework.
But don't let this obstacle steal your dream. I'm sure you can set up ur own company in Shanghai through your effort.
Good Luck! |

If you want to buy something at the market in China, you should remember that you can buy it at least half the initial price if you know how.
Steps
1.So many choices!Look around the market and choose what you want to buy.
.2 Ask the price. Even if you think the price is cheap, never show what you think. You should pretend to be surprised or outraged. They must ask you how much you're willing to pay.
3 .Offer 1/3~1/5 the price. They might be angry or pretend not to want to sell it.
4.Don't worry. Just leave. They will call you and offer a middle price.
5.Offer the same price one more time. They might offer a lower price than before.
You could offer a little higher price. After the haggling you should be able to buy it at half off, or more, of the first price.
That's it. |

Hello Lake,
Take it easy! I'm sure this info won't drive your crazy.
Visa-related Questions
First of all, your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the end of your intended stay in China.
Before leaving for China, make a photocopy of the page containing your photograph and passport number. If your passport is lost or stolen, this will make it easier to replace the passport. Keep the photocopy in a safe place, but do not carry it with your passport. If your passport is lost or stolen, notify your embassy and the police immediately.
Visas in General:
Visas get issued by the Chinese embassy or consulate in your home country. In order to obtain the visa, you must be in good health, have no criminal record, have the ability to be financially independent and carry the intention to leave China after completing your studies. Medical requirements contain vaccinations, an HIV test and an x-ray of the chest.
Hope this info can be some assistance to you.
Good Luck |

Hi Gustbo,
My suggestion is try and get an internship at a company you would be interested in working.. However, if you're interested in working for a company that does a lot for non-profits, it would look good on your resume if you actually intern[ed] at a non-profit and are familiar with how one operates.
Generally my peers do internship and we didn't care much about the money. We particularly care the working experience and process.
Wish you luck! |

Hello, Vicky
You can learn some useful words and sentenses about business when you in China. My suggestion is before you can, try to learn some basic Chinese speaking. Then when you come, just grab each chance to pratice your Chinese. I believe all Chinese are love to help you learning Chinese.
Besides i recommend one website for you to learn Chinese, http;//www.cchello.com
