One Team for Success
My name is Michael Vester, and I have been working in Tangshan, Hebei Province for Siemens Mobility as General Project Coordinator of the CRH3 High speed train Project since October, 2005.
Siemens, as a strong and reliable partner of the global railway industry, is endeavored to the development of Chinese high-speed railways. In the successful CRH3 high speed EMU project, cooperated with our Partner-CNR Tangshan Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd, "The 1st Speed in China" of 394.3 km/h was reached on JJDP Line on June 24, 2008. Its stable performance and excellent comfortability are well recognized by the public. The project will deliver 60 high-speed trains to China Railway in over 3 years, 5 of them already running since July 2008 on the JJDP line connecting Beijing and Tianjin to welcome Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
We are in line respectively ahead of our project time schedule and are confident that commonly we will succeed to achieve our goal and meet our customers' expectation. Beside the common production of the CRH3 trains, our partner will absorb the technology of the product to be able to further develop and adopt this high technology.
I have received strong support from our Partner TC since we are working together. During working, we are good partners although our languages and histories are different; in daily life, we become real friends in despite of culture differences.
The friendship between the individuals is a bridge connecting both parties. This Friendship Award does not only belong to me, but also to our partner TC and the whole Siemens team. Their hard-working, positive learning attitude and team work spirit are very important bases for the good cooperation and smooth and successful project implementation.Without success no recognition, no award, so thanks to everybody supporting me.
For people coming from overseas countries, not only working in China is a challenge, but also living here was a challenge at the beginning. However due to the warm welcome by our partner, the Tangshan government and the people of Tangshan, we feel some how like at home. Especially the gorgeous Olympic Games were a highlight in 2008, showing the rapid and great development of China.
Both Siemens and our partner understand that a close, smooth cooperation across international cultural boundaries is necessary to ensure that the project is processed in a timely manner and with the required level of quality. This National Friendship Award from China's government is not only a great encouragement for us to work even harder, but also gives us much stronger power to go further. We truly believe that under the guidance of "One Team for Success", our project will be a great success for China.
